The Art of Making a ChiQueTê

Vanusia, founder of ChiQueTê, sketching a handbag design at her atelier

Every ChiQueTê handbag is the result of 64 hours of devoted, meticulous work — from the first sketch to the final stitch.

A Process Born from Passion

At ChiQueTê, nothing is rushed. Each creation begins with a design conceived by hand — a vision of beauty, proportion, and purpose. Only when every detail is considered does the making begin.

The Six Stages of Creation

01 — Design
Each piece starts as a sketch. Silhouette, structure, color, and texture are carefully planned before a single thread is touched.

02 — Crochet
Stitch by stitch, the body of the bag takes shape. This is the heart of ChiQueTê — a slow, meditative process that cannot be replicated by machine.

03 — Leather Production
Premium leather components are cut, shaped, and finished by hand. Handles, trims, and structural elements are crafted with the same precision as the crochet itself.

04 — Assembly
The crochet and leather parts are joined with care, ensuring perfect alignment, durability, and a seamless aesthetic.

05 — Finishing
Every edge is inspected. Every detail is refined. The finishing stage is where a beautiful object becomes a flawless one.

06 — Packaging
Each ChiQueTê piece is placed in its own handcrafted dust bag and presented in a premium box — because the experience of receiving a ChiQueTê is part of the luxury itself.

64 Hours. One Piece. No Shortcuts.

From design to delivery, each ChiQueTê handbag demands 64 hours of skilled, attentive work. Every hour is intentional. Every detail is deliberate.

This is not production. This is devotion.

This is ChiQueTê.
